Taylor Wessing advises the insolvency administrator Dr. Jan Markus Plathner on the sale of Frankfurt-Hahn Airport to Swift Conjoy

The insolvent Frankfurt-Hahn Airport Group has found a new owner in the form of Swift Conjoy GmbH through a structured investor process. The airport operations including real estate and all assets from five of a total of six insolvency proceedings of group companies were sold. The parties have agreed not to disclose the sale price. The closing of the deal is still subject to conditions. A Taylor Wessing team led by Munich partner Dr. Hendrik Boss advised the insolvency administrator of Frankfurt-Hahn Airport on all legal issues in connection with the complex asset deal.

Following the successful investor process, Frankfurt-based Swift Conjoy will continue flight operations at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport and intends to take over the approximately 430 employees. The new investor also plans to further expand passenger and cargo operations.

Swift Conjoy is an Anglo-Australian joint venture of CIP - Conjoy Investment Partners and the multi-family office Swift Holding (Swift Group), formed to jointly invest in Frankfurt-Hahn Airport.

Frankfurt-Hahn Airport was hit hard by the effects of the Corona crisis: a lack of passenger traffic accelerated its economic woes, and insolvency was filed in October 2021. The insolvency administrator has successfully implemented various measures since the proceedings were ordered and has thus been able to continue business operations.
